AI insights you can actually trust enough to act on.
Hatless came to us with a sharp insight: every SEO tool now has AI features, but most are still black boxes. They wanted to build the SEO product that explains itself.
The brief
Hatless is an SEO campaign management dashboard with AI-powered keyword analytics and content briefs. We designed the dashboard, the onboarding flow, and the AI-output review surfaces, with a focus on making AI suggestions feel trustworthy rather than mysterious to the SEO professionals who are skeptical of automated insights.
What we solved
SEO professionals are pattern-matchers by trade. They've been burned by automated tools that confidently recommend the wrong keywords or suggest content briefs that read like they were written by a robot from 2020. To win their trust, every AI suggestion in Hatless had to come with reasoning attached, and the dashboard had to feel like a tool a senior SEO would actually use, not a beginner-mode skin over GPT-4.
How we got there
We mapped the SEO professional's actual workflow: research, plan, brief, publish, monitor. Each step in Hatless has its own surface, but they're connected via shared keyword and competitor data so research flows directly into briefing. Every AI suggestion is paired with the data it was derived from, so the user can verify rather than trust blindly. The onboarding is opinionated, walking new users through their first campaign in under ten minutes.
What we shipped
The web app is built around four primary surfaces: research, planning, briefs, and tracking. Each AI output is one click away from its underlying data. The onboarding is a guided campaign setup that lets users get their first content brief in minutes rather than days, which is the activation moment Hatless cares about most.
What changed for the client
Hatless cut campaign launch time by 2.5x for pilot agencies. Eighteen agencies signed in the first quarter post-launch, and the activation rate stayed above 80 percent thanks to the opinionated onboarding flow.
Frequently asked.
Questions that come up most often when companies reach out about projects like this.
Yes. Hatless, Social Bites, and FinVix all involve AI-driven workflows for marketing or finance teams. We're comfortable with both OpenAI and Claude as the model layer, and we focus heavily on making AI outputs feel verifiable rather than opaque.
Every AI suggestion gets paired with the source data it was derived from. The user can always click through to the underlying signal. We never let the model speak alone in the UI, especially for users who don't trust AI by default.
AXI Launch handles the initial fixed-price build for a SaaS dashboard like Hatless. After launch, most clients move onto AXI Studio for ongoing iteration or AXI Automate if they want to build deeper AI workflows on top.
Always. Activation rate is one of the highest-leverage metrics in B2B SaaS. We design the onboarding flow as a separate first-class surface, not an afterthought, and we instrument it so the client team can see exactly where users drop off.
