Point your camera at a meal. Know what you're eating.
ThriveAI came to us with a clear thesis: nutrition tracking apps fail because logging is too slow. They wanted to fix it with AI vision. We built the product around that single moment.
The brief
ThriveAI is an AI-powered health and nutrition tracker that uses camera-based meal scanning. Point your phone at a plate, get a nutritional breakdown in seconds. We built the brand identity and the iOS/Android app, with heavy focus on the AI meal recognition flow and the brand language that made the tech feel approachable.
What we solved
Nutrition apps churn brutally. Manual logging is too slow, photo-based logging has been tried and abandoned by multiple competitors because the AI accuracy was too low. ThriveAI had to deliver an obvious accuracy improvement in the first session, paired with a brand that felt motivating without sliding into wellness-cliche territory.
How we got there
We designed the scan flow as the product's heroic moment: open app, point camera, see nutrition info. The Claude-powered AI handles meal recognition with confidence scoring. When the AI is unsure, the app surfaces clear correction options rather than guessing. The brand uses warm neutrals and a confident accent color that signals optimism without falling into pastel-wellness territory.
What we shipped
The mobile app spans three primary surfaces: scan (the camera-driven home screen), today (your nutrition for the day), and history (long-term trends). Scan results appear instantly with a quick-edit panel for the user to confirm or adjust. Long-term trends use restrained charts that emphasize patterns over daily anxieties.
What changed for the client
ThriveAI hit 45,000 users in its first six months. Users have scanned over 2.4 million meals through the app. The app holds a 4.7-star rating, with the AI scan accuracy mentioned in nearly every five-star review.
Frequently asked.
Questions that come up most often when companies reach out about projects like this.
Yes. ThriveAI is our most camera-vision-heavy product. We integrate Claude's image capabilities and OpenAI's image models into mobile apps where the camera flow is the product's hero moment.
Confidence scoring on every prediction, clear correction surfaces when the AI is unsure, and a feedback loop that improves the model over time. Users tolerate AI errors when they feel in control of correction.
Yes. We deliberately avoid pastel-wellness branding for products like ThriveAI and Maxout. Confident typography, restrained palette, and motivating-not-preachy copy keeps the tone serious without being clinical.
