Quantro
Trade like a pro without looking like one.
Quantro was an internal concept built around a frustration we shared: every crypto trading app either insults beginners with cute UI or assumes everyone wants to read a Bloomberg terminal on their phone. We sketched the middle.
The brief
Quantro is a concept design for a crypto trading app with real-time charts and advanced order types. The defining design choice was making a trading-grade product feel approachable without dumbing down its capabilities. We designed the brand and the iOS/Android app across twelve weeks.
What we solved
Crypto trading apps have to serve two audiences with vastly different needs: intermediate traders who want pro-grade tools and newer users who want approachability. Most apps pick one and lose the other. Quantro had to scale gracefully between the two without re-skinning the app.
How we got there
We designed the home screen around the user's most recent action (last trade, last view, last watchlist) with progressive disclosure for advanced features. Charts use a calm color palette that's still readable at a glance. Advanced order types are accessible from the standard order surface, not buried in a 'pro' tab. The brand pairs confident typography with a deep palette that signals trading seriousness.
What we shipped
The Quantro concept lands on three primary surfaces: trade (the active interface), markets (discovery and watchlists), and portfolio (holdings). Charts are built with the trader's mental model in mind: timeframes prominent, indicators one tap away, advanced order ladder accessible from any chart.
What changed for the client
Quantro was used as a portfolio piece and helped attract crypto client engagements. The concept's approachable-but-pro positioning resonated with founders building consumer crypto products that need to scale across user sophistication.

Questions that come up most often when companies reach out about projects like this.
It's an AXI internal concept. We use concept work to push our craft in categories we want to attract more client work in. Quantro helped open conversations with several crypto founders.
Yes. We've shipped consumer crypto products including Lumira, Senova, and Saku Monsters, plus concept work like Quantro. We focus on making crypto products feel like consumer products first, with chain mechanics behind the curtain.
Progressive disclosure. The home and order surfaces work for newer users, with advanced affordances accessible inline rather than in a separate 'pro' mode. Power users get speed, newer users get approachability, and the app doesn't have to maintain two parallel UIs.
